Sacred flame finishes run in sunny Hainan

(HAIKOU, May 6) -- At 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the last torchbearer to carry the sacred flame through Hainan Province's capital city, Haikou, lit the waiting cauldron at Century Square amid enthusiastic cheers and applause.
The relay started out on its 30.2 kilometer route from Sea View Platform and passed through Binhai Avenue, Evergreen Park, Century Bridge, and other landmarks before its conclusion. 208 torchbearers took part in the relay.

Haikou is the last city that the sacred flame will tour in Hainan Province. According to the schedule, the flame will board its charter plane and take off for Guangzhou at 7:30 p.m. tonight to prepare for its tour of Guangdong Province on May 7.
